Bytown Brigantine Academy (BBA) is an independent experiential secondary school accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education and a professional marine training facility certified by Transport Canada.

As a school, students of Bytown Brigantine Academy will find themselves immersed not only as students of Leadership, Nautical Science and Seamanship Studies, but as active and participative members of the shipboard community as well.  Bytown Brigantine Academy is a learning environment like no other in the world; it seeks to bring together youth with a common interest in adventure and challenge through the sea and through the demanding and rewarding environment of a sailing ship.

As a professional marine training facility, Bytown Brigantine Academy offers Marine Emergency Duties (MED) and Small Vessel Machinery Operator (SVMO) courses, in addition to Basic and Advanced Marine First-Aid, VHF Operator, WHMIS, Fall-Arrest and Food Handling certificates.
