13th Annual Awards & Reunion Banquet - 2007

Bytown Brigantine’s 13th Annual Awards & Reunion Banquet was held at the Britannia Yacht Club on Saturday, October 27, 2007.  Once again crewmates young and old alike were reunited to have a nice meal, catch up, swap stories and raise some money for the Captain Thomas G. Fuller Bursary for Youth.

    A big “Thank You” to all these people and business who donated items for the silent auction in the past thus helping us in raising money for the Thomas G. Fuller Bursary for Youth.
     “Thank you” also to all the people who bid and won items in the auction.

A lot of people appeared to be getting the jump on their Christmas shopping by bidding on and winning the many gift baskets and other goodies on the silent auction tables.  The meet and greet saw friends, young and old, getting reaquainted and really mixing things up as everyone tried to complete their Scavenger Hunt sheets.

After we sat down and had something to eat, Bytown Brigantine’s President, Simon Fuller, addressed the attendees giving a review of the rather exicing highlights from this summer.  Knockdowns in the Black Jack, fire aboard Fair Jeanne, broken bones on the Island.  It was almost as though the captains were trying to one-up each other with emergencies!  Ok, so there were a few bumps and scrapes this summer but it is safe to say that a good time was had by most everybody.

The Silent Auction went very quickly and smoothly.  The announcements of the winners was interspersed with the announcements of the level presenations and other awards (see below).  Between the trainees receiving the level certificates and other awards, monies were collected from the Silent Auction to go towards the Captain Thomas G. Fuller Bursary for Youth.
