Spring of 2008. Picture yourself crewing a 27' whaler sailing &/or pulling down the Rideau Canal from Kingston to Ottawa on a 10-day (or so) expedition. Call the Bytown Brigantine office at 613-596-6258 to find out how to get on board.
Important Information and Drop-off Instructions for Black Jack and Island Adventure Camps:
Camps begin at 0900 (9am) hours with sign-in at the waterfront in Quyon, Québec. Please consult with the office if travel considerations necessitate early/late arrivals.
Grand Return:
Black Jack will return to her dock, at the Britannia Yacht Club, Ottawa, at around 1200 hours
(12:00 noon). Parents and friends are encouraged to arrive at the Britannia Yacht Club
one hour early to witness the return of the Black Jack complete with sailing demonstration prior to her arrival at the
dock (subject to weather conditions).
Sleeping Accommodations:
The sleeping facility is aboard a floating bunk/galley barge
with barrack-style accommodations in one large great room. All participants,
male and female, share this common sleeping facility. This arrangement demands
that all trainees respect each other’s privacy and security. Violations of
this ethic will result in immediate removal from the program. Proper sleeping
attire is required. Change rooms are available and must be used.
