Service Description

Students will discover the arts in the proud Canadian maritime tall ship traditions. Exploring mediums in a nautical context such as drama, film, music, and visual arts, this high school credit course will allow students to learn about traditions such as the role of tattoo and rope/knot art in the sailing world. Some of these skills can count towards the completion of your logbook levels. Classes run from Thursday, October 7 - June 16. Thursday – 7 pm – 8:30 pm, starting October 7 – June 16, with 6 Saturdays (in-person or virtual) 10:00 – 2:00 pm, October 23, November 27, February 12, April 23, & May 14. No classes- Nov. 11, Dec. 23, 30, March 17, 24 or May 19. No prior tall ship experience is required. This course can also be taken 100% virtually! Be ready to budget approximately an additional $250 in art supplies.
