8-DAY VOYAGE: YOUTH 14+ Reserved for Ships2Shores

We are excited to be working together to deliver this voyage, which is reserved for BroadReach Canada’s Ships2Shores program. This program funds sail training opportunities for eligible youth who might not otherwise be able to experience the adventure of life at sea, and it forms part of a broader community service and civic engagement initiative. https://go.broadreachcanada.ca/waiting-list-2026

This 8-day voyage from August 4-11, from Coburg to Brockville, is a hands-on sailing adventure designed to build leadership, teamwork, and resilience. Each day brings new challenges—working with the wind, handling sails, learning knots, navigation, and engineering ensuring no two days are the same.

Participants rotate through a “watch” system, gaining sea time, practical skills, and confidence in a fully supervised, safe environment. The voyage also offers a unique opportunity for growth both on and off the water.

Highlights:

  • Leadership and teamwork development

  • Hands-on sailing and maritime skills

  • Self-confidence, resilience, and problem-solving in real-world conditions

FAIR JEANNE 2: Where the Wind Leads.

Dates: August 4 – 11
Route: Cobourg → Gananoque
Ages: 14+
Cost: All fees are covered as part of the Ships2Shores Program.

Drop-off / Pick-up: 10:00 a.m. (Cobourg) / 2:00 p.m. (Gananoque)

Over eight days aboard Fair Jeanne, the wind decides where we go. This voyage is about finding the rhythm of tall ship life — hauling lines, steering at the helm, setting sails — and discovering how leadership and teamwork grow naturally with every nautical mile.

From anchoring in quiet coves to practicing emergency drills or visiting a local port, each day brings a new adventure. With no cell phones, you’ll learn to be comfortable with the unknown and fully present in the moment. Build practical skills — from woodworking and sail repair to helping the ship’s cook prepare meals and learning how the engine works. Study the stars at night and discover what it means to truly live, learn, and lead.
